"It is remarkable how much long-term advantage people like us have gotten by trying
to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be very intelligent."
‐ Charlie Munger
As globalization continues to interconnect countries and economies,
the world's capital markets are becoming more interrelated and interdependent.
The Principals of West Hill have long recognized the evolution of today's
financial markets and have significant experience record in the management
of fixed income portfolios. West Hill utilizes a global, fundamental,
macroeconomic approach to the fixed income markets. West Hill's investment
approach demonstrates that consistent application of our disciplined
methodology adds value for our clients over the long term.
West Hill invests in Sovereign Debt, Government Agency and Corporate
Securities in its client portfolios. Non-dollar sovereign and corporate
debt, US Dollar denominated Emerging Market Debt, and US High Yield
securities are also used in portfolios. We avoid the use of arbitrage,
alternative debt and derivative instruments.
Individual Security Selection
Individual security selections are based upon specific criteria
developed by the West Hill. We use various screening techniques
to help identify the types of securities that fit within our
overall investment approach. Bonds are evaluated on the basis of
duration, valuation, call features, credit quality, liquidity,
yield-to-maturity and other factors to ensure that each security
meets the client's investment guidelines.
Technical analysis is also an important part of the West Hill
security selection process. It is used to gauge current market
sentiment and relative strength. With this method, tactical market
entry and exit points can be identi?ied and utilized to enhance a
portfolios overall performance.
